It's Different with Dad!

A series of workshops to get to know your child through play

Starting Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, and every two weeks thereafter

Are you a dad, and your child or children are between the ages of 2 and 6? Come and enjoy a fun and rewarding experience. You will learn how to leverage your strengths as a dad to fully participate in your child's development. Games, laughter, and bonding moments will be on the agenda to strengthen the unique connection you share. A wonderful opportunity to see how things are different with dad!

The workshops are free of charge, but registration is required. Reserve your spot by calling us at: 418-763-5005.

These workshops will allow you, as a dad, to:
  • Better understand your child's characteristics, signals, and developmental stages.
  • Learn more about your important paternal role and find your place.
  • Further develop your attachment bond with your child.
  • Maintain, enhance, and consolidate your parenting skills, and gain confidence in your abilities.
  • Discover useful resources.
  • Meet and chat with other dads who share your experience.
And for your child? These workshops will help them:
  • Develop their relationship with you.
  • Build confidence in their exploratory abilities and trust in you.
  • Work on managing their emotions and the skills necessary for their growth.
  • Meet other children and make new friends!

For the Winter 2026 season, the workshops will take place in Sainte-Anne-des-Monts. We look forward to welcoming you!

To learn more

With Dad, It's Different! is an early stimulation program for fathers and their children. In 2014, the Côte-Nord Homme Aide Manicouagan organization and researchers from the University of Sherbrooke, Guadalupe Puentes-Newman and Stéphanie Breton, adapted the With Dad, It's Different! program, which had previously been offered in certain CLSCs (12-24 months), to be implemented in the community setting. Furthermore, the intervention team and researchers rethought and reworked the format of the workshops, expanding the age group (0-5 years) and adding siblings, so that fathers could attend with all their children within the targeted age range. The program is now offered in several regions of Quebec, including Gaspésie, by our Maison Oxygène.
